Privacy Policy

This policy explains what BeforePress collects, why, and what we never do with it.

What we collect

What we don't do

Why we process it (legal bases)

We process account and payment data to perform our contract with you; usage data for our legitimate interest in running, securing, and improving the Service; and correspondence to respond to you. We retain data only as long as needed for those purposes.

Signal data

Funding, exec-change and crowdfunding signals are derived from public government records. We deliver company-level business events, not contact lists: no email addresses and no phone numbers. Where a public record names a company officer acting in their business capacity, we reproduce only what the record states.

Social listening data

If you enable the Social Listening add-on, we collect posts that are publicly visible on LinkedIn, Reddit and X and that match the keywords you choose. Those posts can include personal data: the author's public display name or handle, their public profile headline, employer or subreddit, public engagement counts, the post text, and a link to the original post. We do not collect private messages, non-public profiles, connection graphs, email addresses or phone numbers, and we never log into or operate accounts on those platforms to obtain data.

If a tracker watches a specific person's profile, we additionally record the individuals who publicly react to or comment on that person's posts: their public display name, their public profile link, the job title and employer shown on their profile, and the text of any comment they left publicly. We use the employer to judge whether the company matches our customer's stated criteria. We do not collect connection lists, private profiles, contact details, or anything visible only to signed-in members, and we never operate an account on those platforms to obtain it.

Our legal basis is legitimate interest in business-to-business market monitoring, balanced against the poster's expectations for content they published publicly. We keep the original post link so the source is always verifiable, and posts are retained for the period described below.

If you are the author of a post we hold and want it removed, email [email protected] with the post link and we will delete it from our corpus and from any customer feed, normally within a few days. You may also object to processing, and you can ask us to suppress a keyword or an author entirely.

If you believe any signal includes personal information that should be removed, contact us and we'll review it promptly. Where removal rights apply, we honor them.

Cookies

The marketing site works without tracking cookies. Signed-in surfaces use strictly necessary cookies for authentication, and the Creem checkout uses cookies required to process your payment.

Sharing and processors

We share data only with the processors needed to run the Service: Creem (payments, Merchant of Record), our hosting provider, data-collection providers used to retrieve public social posts for the Social Listening add-on, an AI provider used to score and summarize those posts, and email when we correspond with you. We don't sell or rent personal data to anyone.

International transfers

We are a US company; data is processed in the United States. Creem processes payment data under its own safeguards.

Your rights, retention, and deletion

Account data is kept while your account is active. Email us to access, correct, or delete your account and associated personal data; we'll confirm when done. Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights (access, portability, objection); we honor them.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be announced by email or on this page with a new "last updated" date.
